Jahetepra Sebekhotep, o Sebekhotep V,[1] fue un faraón de la dinastía XIII que gobernó en Tebas durante unos cinco años, de ca. 1685 a 1680 a. C.[2] o hasta 1680 a. C.[3] Según el Canon Real de Turín reinó 4 años, ocho meses y 29 días.[3]
Era, probablemente, hijo de Janeferra Sebekhotep (Sebekhotep IV) y de Nubhetepti;[4] su esposa fue Jaesnebu.[5]
Su nombre de trono, Jahetepra, significa "Ra, pacífica aparición".
W. Helck y otros estudiosos sugieren que en tiempos de Sebekhotep, o poco después, hubo un declive de poder que originó la formación de varios principados independientes.
En esa época quizás surgieron los reyes hicsos en el delta del Nilo (Bajo Egipto).

Testimonios de su época [editar]
Se ha encontrado varios objetos de su época:
- una estela de Tebas, hallada en el templo de Karnak,
- una estatua oferente, procedente de Kerma, que se exhibe en el Altes Museum de Berlín, aunque las inscripciones de su base están muy dañadas y es dudosa su atribución.[6] El egiptólogo Kim Ryholt afirma que era parte de una estatua conservada en Boston.[7]
- varios escarabeos con su nombre.

Esta página trata de Jahetepra Sebekhotep
- La aparente simplicidad al denominar a los faraones con un sólo nombre, mas su número ordinal (por ejemplo: Sebekhotep V), lleva a la paradoja de no saber de quien se trata, pues hubo varios Sebekhotep y los historiadores, egiptólogos y arqueólogos no se ponen de acuerdo en ocasiones. Esto ocurre con otros faraones, como varios Ptolomeos, Pepis, etc

Sobekhotep V was an Egyptian king of the 13th Dynasty. His birth name was Sobekhotep, and his throne name was Khahotepre
Sobekhotep V appears in the Turin King List as the successor of Sobekhotep IV. According to this document, he only reigned for four years. Sobekhotep IV was perhaps his father, as he had a son called 'Sobekhotep'. Sobekhotep V is known from a statue found at Kerma and from several scarab seals.
