New Database for OI Records
Thanks to funding from the University of Chicago and a generous grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Oriental Institute will begin the process of installing a new integrated computer database (IDB) that will eventually merge all OI records into one searchable database. Hyde Park Jazz Festival

Jazz enthusiasts! As part of the fourth annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival the Oriental Institute will be featuring several big names in local jazz:

2:15 - 2:45 PM
Jazz flutist Steve Flowers and keyboard artist Roger Harris will perform amidst the awe-inspiring colossal sculpture of the Museum's Persian Gallery
3:00 - 4:00 PM
The Charlie Johnson Quartet will delight jazz lovers with a mix of great jazz and a dash of funk and blues.
4:15 - 4:45
Steve Flowers and Roger Harris will perform once more in the Persian Gallery.

The Hyde Park Jazz Festival will also be presenting back-to-back jazz for music lovers of all ages at other cultural venues throughout Hyde Park. For more information visit http://hydeparkjazzfestival.org
